Georgia EPD plans lead paint/asbestos seminars

The Georgia Environmental Protection Division will present two seminars at Dalton State College in the James E. Brown Center on Wednesday, October 15: Advanced Asbestos Awareness and Advanced Lead-Based Paint Awareness.

The seminars will address the hazards of these materials and the laws and regulations governing their handling and removal.

Attendance is recommended to general and demolition contractors, real estate agents, building and facilities owners and managers, asbestos and/or lead abatement contractors, and waste haulers.

The Georgia Real Estate Commission has approved each of these seminars for four hours or 0.4 CEUs of continuing education.

The Advanced Asbestos Awareness seminar will take place 8 am-12:30 pm, and the Advanced Lead-Based Paint seminar will meet 1:30-5:30 pm.

The fee for each seminar is $40; however, attendees can register for both morning and afternoon seminars for $65, which includes lunch and refreshments.
